Harlem Furniture stated that if you find the same item for less within 30 days that they will match that price whether it is from a competitor or Harlem.
In January my wife and I purchased a leather pit group from Harlem Furniture. A couple of weeks later we did see that the same pit group was on sale (supposedly) and that Harlem would not charge sales tax for any item purchased that Sunday.
I returned to Harlem Furniture and requested they honor their 30 day policy mentioned above.
I was told that the pit group price was increased $100 and then discounted in their ad $100 which made the price the same as I paid. I told my salesman that I understand that although, I didn't agree with their methods of jacking the price up and then making it appear that they were offering the consumer a great deal.
I then asked that my sales tax be refunded as this ad was cheaper than I had paid less than 30 days ago.
I was told that they could not do that as the offer was a "Special Promotion" and that the 30 day offer did not apply. I argued and was offered a $75.00 customer "blow-off" refund.
I told the store manager that I was no fool and that I would take the $75.00 but that I intended on further pursuit with Harlem's Corporate office.
I was told the same thing by the corporate office, it was as "Special Promotion" and that the 30 day offer would not apply.
I've contacted the Better Business Bureau and a few other websites to file complaints againt their deceptive and fradulent activities.
What a joke, when companies deceive their consumers and use twisted terminology to excuse their fradulent behavior.
Beware consumers...Harlem Furniture is a scam joint.
You can bet I'll never purchase anything from them again.
