Harlem Furniture complaint
I purchased a complete living room set on 1/27/08 and it has been a nightmare. The quality is horrible. They scratched all 3 tables during the assembly and I had to reject them and reschedule another delivery date.

I made my purchase 2 days after they opened. The lamps I picked out were discontinued, and the rug was on backorder. I have been contacted 3 times that my rug was in, but never got it. I even scheduled a delivery and they never showed up.

Apparently if you don't call back within 48 hours when customer service calls to schedule a delivery date, they release the product to the next customer waiting. It doesn't matter that I already paid. It is 3/7/08 and still no rug.

I reserved the Rado sofa set from the Room Place - Morton Grove branch on 6/25. I locked in the sale price for the 3 piece set even though I only wanted the 2 piece set. I was assured by the store manager that I can get the 2 piece set at the sale price as long as I make the purchase by end of July since I paid the $50 to reserve the set. Two days later, on 6/25, I called the store again to finalize the purchase. I asked a different store manager to confirm the price of the 2 piece sofa set. He quoted me a price that was approx. $100 higher than what I locked in at. I asked why & he said it was because I reserved the 3 piece set price instead of the 2 piece. When I explained to him about my discussion with the store manager from 2 days ago, he said that's not company policy. I asked him to have the previous store manager call me back. He never did & I had to call back the next day. I still couldn't talk to him. I have spent over 2 hours on the phone with them just to make a purchase. However, I am givign up at this point and called them back to cancel my reservation & just return my $50 deposit. I like the Rado sofa set but it's just not worth it to deal with these incompetent store employees.
